An outing to Kiplin Hall is arranged for members of Durham & District u3a.

The non-refundable deposit of £10 is payable on booking using the methods indicated below.

Itinerary

10.00          Pickup from Bowburn Community Centre.

10.45          Arrive at Kiplin Hall

11.15          Guided tour of the Hall or Gardens (1)

11.45          Guided tour of the Hall or Gardens (2) numbers permitting

13.15          Sandwich lunch 

PM              Free to explore the Hall, gardens, Lake, walks and cafe 

16.00          Depart Kiplin Hall

16.45          Arrive back in Bowburn.

All timings are approximate.

* A guide will take us around the Hall or Gardens, taking approximately an hour and a half.

There will be access to the Hall, Gardens and cafe throughout the day.

Information provided by Kiplin Hall 

Kiplin is a large site with many historic buildings, bodies of water, and some uneven surfaces. The upper floors of the Hall are accessed by two long shallow staircases. Unfortunately, there is no lift to these levels. For those unable to manage the stairs there are resources and photographs to browse on the ground floor. Accessible toilets are located to the side of the drive near the clock tower, or in the Visitor Centre. Free admission is available to carers/assistants of disabled visitors. The cost is £45 per person and includes: -

1.       Coach travel (air-conditioned, with toilet facilities),

2.       Entry to Kiplin Hall,

3.       a guided tour of the Hall or Gardens, and

4.       a sandwich lunch with tea or coffee.
